The formula of the groom aid was created in cooperation with professional groomers and based on thorough laboratory, application and use tests. The groom aid recipe ensures a balanced pH and provides optimal conditions for the horse's healthy skin.
The composition of groom aid combines the power of the extracts of aloe, tulsi, calendula, milk thistle, Tara tree and Enteromorpha compressa algae, and the high concentration of panthenol, allantoin and Tasmanian pepper extract soothes all irritations and has a soothing effect.
Thanks to the appropriate selection of ingredients, fur and hair:
groom aid has been tested for anti-inflammatory and soothing effects and facilitating the removal of shaved hair.
The in vitro study was performed on a skin model, quantifying the production of interleukin IL-8 by fibroblasts. Inflammation was induced using interleukin IL-1α as a pro-inflammatory mediator, and dexamethasone 1µM (DMS - an anti-inflammatory agent) was used as a positive control.
Tests have proven that groom aid inhibits the release of the IL-8 factor induced by IL-1α, which confirms the strong anti-inflammatory and soothing effect of the product.
The study of the effect of facilitating the removal of shaved hair was carried out on areas of skin subjected to shaving. Pure water was used as a positive control, and the control surfaces were 20 x 20 cm2 stencils.
After shaving, using an applicator, water was applied to one stencil and groom aid was applied to the other stencil. Then, both surfaces were wiped with a dry cotton cloth and the number of hairs remaining on the cloth was counted.
The obtained results indicated that the groom aid removed 79% more shaved hair compared to the control sample.
